Tzatziki Sauce Recipe – Authentic Greek Sauce

Tzatziki-Tsaht-ZEE-kee! The iconic Greek yogurt dip/sauce pairs with grilled vegetables, crudites, toasted pita, and many more. Salted yogurt made from sheep/goats’ milk is strained and combined with shredded cucumber, olive oil, and herbs. India relished the simple raitha along with the spicy biriyani during the Persian rule. Persians carried the raitha with them to the Middle East. The Greeks enjoyed its taste and with continuous experimentations, the raitha lost its Indian roots, and Tzatziki was born.
